The majority of our work takes place in three caves: Linville Caverns in western NC, Daniel Boone Caverns in southwestern Virginia, Worley's Cave in Bluff City, TN, and Carter Saltpeter Cave outside of Johnson City, TN.
We are unable to take members of the public on our research expeditions, but to become involved in recreational caving expeditions, please visit the Mountain Empire Grotto or another local caving group. These can be found through the National Speleological Society or the Appalachian Cave Conservancy.
